Sepiolite absorbent material

Anker Mining Co. supplies sepiolite as an absorbent raw material for industrial oil and liquid spill applications. As a Turkish sepiolite producer and exporter, we supply the mineral in granular and micronized forms to European B2B buyers, distributors and absorbent-product manufacturers — directly from our own reserves.

The material

Sepiolite as an absorbent material.

Sepiolite is a fibrous, hydrated magnesium silicate clay mineral with an exceptionally high surface area and a porous internal structure. These characteristics allow it to take up and hold liquids, which is why it is widely used as the mineral base for industrial absorbents.

We supply sepiolite as a raw and processed absorbent mineral. The finished absorbent products used on factory floors and in spill kits are made by our downstream customers, who granulate, blend, pack and brand the mineral for their own markets. Anker Mining Co. supplies the mineral itself, not those finished consumer or industrial products.

Absorption properties

Why sepiolite absorbs.

The absorbent behaviour of sepiolite comes from its physical structure. The points below describe the mineral qualitatively — they are not measured absorption rates or laboratory values, which depend on the grade and are confirmed on request.

High surface area

A large internal surface area gives the mineral its capacity to take up liquids.

Porous structure

A porous framework draws in and retains liquid rather than releasing it easily.

Lightweight

Low bulk density means a given weight of granules covers a useful volume.

Broad liquid compatibility

The mineral is used to absorb oils, solvents and many other industrial liquids.

Industrial applications

Industrial absorbent applications.

Manufacturers and distributors use sepiolite-based absorbents across a range of industrial settings. The uses below are common in the industry; the finished products are produced by our customers from the mineral we supply.

Floor absorbents

Granular mineral used in workshop and factory-floor absorbents for general maintenance.

Maintenance & workshops

Used where machinery, vehicles and equipment are maintained and drips are common.

Manufacturing sites

A mineral base for absorbents used across industrial and production environments.

Distributors & formulators

Supplied to companies that produce and distribute their own absorbent product lines.

Spill applications

Oil and liquid spill applications.

A common end use of sepiolite absorbents is controlling and cleaning up spills. Below is how the mineral is typically applied in these situations — end users should always follow the finished product’s instructions and the regulations for handling and disposing of the absorbed substance.

Oil spills

Granules are spread over spilled oil to take it up, then swept for handling.

Solvents & chemicals

Used to absorb solvents and many industrial chemicals during spill control.

Coolants & fluids

Applied to coolant, lubricant and general workshop fluid spills.

Spill kits

A mineral component in absorbent granule spill kits assembled by our customers.

Forms & grades

Available forms and grades.

We supply sepiolite for absorbent applications in the forms below. Target particle size within each form is agreed against your specification; we confirm what we can produce before an order rather than publishing fixed values.

Granular

Free-flowing granular grades, the common form for floor and spill absorbents.

Micronized / powder

Finer grades where a smaller particle size is required by the formulation.

Natural & industrial

Both natural and industrial sepiolite, selected to suit the absorbent application.

Packaging is available in 25 kg bags, big bags or loose bulk. Specific particle-size ranges are confirmed per grade rather than published as fixed values.

B2B supply

B2B supply information.

Who we supply

Absorbent-product manufacturers, formulators and distributors — B2B only.

Direct from the mine

Material comes from our own licensed reserves in Türkiye, not resold stock.

Packaging

25 kg bags, big bags or loose bulk to suit your operation.

Export & logistics

Container shipping to European and international ports, with export documentation handled.

Technical documentation

For a confirmed grade we can provide the relevant technical details and, where available, a certificate of analysis, along with the export documentation your shipment requires. We do not publish generic absorption figures or compliance claims: performance in a finished absorbent, and the handling and disposal of any absorbed substance, must be assessed by the buyer according to their product, intended use and the regulations that apply in their market.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions.

What is a sepiolite absorbent?
A sepiolite absorbent is an absorbent based on sepiolite, a fibrous magnesium silicate clay mineral with a high surface area and porous structure that lets it take up and hold liquids. Anker Mining Co. supplies the sepiolite mineral in granular and micronized forms; the finished absorbent products are made by downstream manufacturers.
What can sepiolite absorbents be used for?
Sepiolite-based absorbents are commonly used to absorb oils, solvents, coolants and other industrial liquids in workshops, maintenance areas and manufacturing sites, and as a component in spill kits. The suitability of a finished product for a specific liquid is determined by the manufacturer.
Do you sell finished absorbent products?
No. We supply sepiolite as a raw and processed absorbent mineral to B2B buyers. Finished, packaged absorbent products are made by our downstream customers from the mineral we supply.
What forms and grades are available?
We supply natural and industrial sepiolite in granular and micronized (powder) forms. Target particle size is agreed per order against your specification rather than published as fixed values.
Where is the sepiolite sourced from?
All of our sepiolite comes from our own licensed reserves in the Eskişehir region of Türkiye, one of the world’s most significant sources of the mineral. We mine and process it ourselves, so material is traceable to a single origin.
Do you supply absorbent-grade sepiolite to Europe?
Yes. We are a Turkish exporter supplying B2B buyers internationally, including across Europe. Bulk and packaged sepiolite is shipped in containers from Türkiye to your destination port, with export documentation coordinated on our side.
How do I request a quote?
